With origins rooted in the vision of Hans Peters, a pioneering German optician who immigrated to the United States in the 1940s, Cosmo Optics was founded in 1957. Mr. Peters, after mastering the optical fabrication trade and gaining valuable experience across various American firms, embarked on establishing his own enterprise.

Since its inception, Cosmo Optics has consistently grown, expanded its product offerings, and earned global acclaim for delivering top-tier optical components of unparalleled quality. Our involvement in numerous prototypes within the Photonics Industry has fortified our expertise and service offerings across a diverse array of components. Today, our manufacturing capabilities encompass a broad spectrum of shapes—from spherical and plano to cylindrical lenses and prisms—ranging in size from 1.5mm to 1524mm.

Located in a 22,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Albany, NY, Cosmo Optics remains privately-held under single ownership.
